2. Pyramids

Look at this picture of the pyramids. Compare what the pyramids look like now to the picture. What do you think the pyramids looked like when they were first built? Referring back to what we learned in class, explain why the ancient Egyptians went through such extreme lengths to bury kings.

Week 4

I really enjoyed this assignment. I love the program used. I think it was set up in a way that made creating our video easy, and fun. I'm excited to make more movies and use them in my classroom. I think what is going to be the hardest thing when using these in the classroom, is making them in such a way that is more beneficial than other teaching strategies. I think they are fun and wonderful really, but they need to be used in the right context, and knowing when to use them I think is going to be my biggest challenge. I am really excited to use them though! I think they are fun and just great.

ABC Storybook

Here is Heather's, Heidi's, and my video. Yea!

TPACK

My understanding of TPACK is that it is the ability a teacher has in delivering content as well as pedological information. It can be divided up into "content knowledge," "pedological knowledge," and "technology knowledge." These can be combined into subgroups such as content and technology knowledge, but when they are all combined, it's called TPACK. If a teacher can teach using TPACK, he/she will deliver information in a most effective way.

Week 2

I think the most useful thing I learned from this week's assignment was being able to create a webpage! How neat! I had no idea how it was done, so this was all very interesting and new for me. I particularly enjoyed learning about "picnik" and "globster." I love pictures and artwork, so editing a picture with such a fun and creative program was really fun and exciting for me. I also enjoyed creating a poster. Also, I really appreciated learning how to do embed sources. I learned a ton from this assingment. Yea!

Intial Post: My Technology Experience

I've grown up using computers. There has always been one in my home, so from a young age I have experimented and learned how to use it. In Jr. High I took a keyboarding class, and then in highschool I was required to take a computer class. Even in my first year in college I was required to take a computer class. I feel fairly confident using computers. I have another personal blog, and Facebook account that I use frequently.

I've joined the iPod club, and am on my second one.

Technology doesn't scare me. I feel fairly confident using most new devices.
